Programs that educate and promote awareness, understanding and appreciation of diversity, multiculturalism, and social justice and the various racial, ethnic, and cultures on campus.      
  • Diversity Celebrations of Different Major Racial & Ethnic Groups in United States
    • American Indian Heritage Month
    • Asian Awareness Month
    • Black History Month
    • Hispanic Heritage Month
  • Ambassadors for Multicultural Affairs (AMA)
    • OMA's Ambassadors for Multicultural Affairs are peer educators who facilitate diversity workshops/presentations for residence halls, FSUnited and the Multicultural Orientation.  The ambassadors are comprised of students from various student organizations, as well as students with no group affiliation who simply want to promote diversity and inclusiveness on the FSU campus. 
  • FSUnited
    • FSUnited is a Student Affairs initiative to bring the campus together for one day to celebrate the unity of each department as we continue to serve the students of Florida State University.  Diversity Ambassadors serve as hosts for the diversity panel discussion on the evening prior to the FSUnited festivities. 
  • Multicultural and Diversity presentations
    • OMA presents a number of presentations for partners on campus such as FYE, Engineering, and Residence Halls.
  • Multicultural Resource Library
    • The Multicultural Resource Library can be found in the Office of Multicultural Affairs. It holds a variety of books and videos aimed at the various multicultural student groups, including:
      • African-American/Black
      • American Indian/Native American
      • Asian/Asian American
      • Hispanic/Latino/a
      • Jewish and Religous
      • Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT)
      • Race,Ethnicity, Power, and Class
      • Social Justice
  • Scholarships
    • MLK book stipend:  A book stipend is given in the name of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and in the memory of Bobby E. Leach, the University's first African-American vice president. Applications are available in the Office of Multicultural Affairs in November.
    • Angie Cintron Scholarship - $1,000 is awarded to an undergraduate student at The Florida State University who has contributed to the campus community through participation in the Hispanic/Latino Student Union during the current academic year.
    • Seth Rossetti Scholarship - Established in 2006, this memorial scholarship was created to honor Seth Rossetti. The purpose of this scholarship is to support one undergraduate student who is presently or who was for a significant part of his/her life the child of a single parent. This scholarship is availableevery Spring semester to all current FSU undergraduate students and all incoming FSU freshmen.
Programs that provide/facilitate advocacy and support services for the retention and success of underrepresented and ethnically diverse student populations.
  • Multicultural Orientation Information Session
    • Freshmen students are provided an opportunity to meet the members of various multicultural student groups, and to learn what these organizations have to offer new members in terms of social, civic and educational opportunities.
  • Gathering BBQ
    • This activity gives first year students an opportunity to meet the people and organizations available to them during their career at FSU. In addition, the Gathering provides a flavor of the multicultural atmosphere on the Florida State campus.
  • Student Organizations Discrimination Issues
    • Addresses and helps resolve cases that involve student discrimination on campus
    • Discrimination and harassment of any kind will not be tolerated at Florida State University. Students who believe that they have been unlawfully harassed or discriminated against on the basis of their race, ethnicity, religion, color, national origin, sexual orientation, and/or gender or sex, can contact the Office of Multicultural Affairs at multiculturalaffairs@admin.fsu.edu, 644-2450 or complete the FSU discrimination form here.
