COMING APRIL 23, 2008

OMA Graduation & Recognition Ceremony

On Wednesday, April 23, 2008, the Office of Multicultural Affairs is hosting the first annual OMA Graduation and Recognition Ceremony to recognize the accomplishments of graduating seniors affiliated with the Office of Multicultural Affairs. This event will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Oglesby Union Ballrooms and is open to all. The honored guests are limited to seniors graduating in the spring and summer of 2008.

The recognition ceremony will allow OMA to honor the academic and leadership achievements of the Class of 2008 as well as recognize the contributions these students have made to Florida State University community. This ceremony will provide a chance for seniors to share their accomplishments with the professional staff that have been visible throughout their academic and co-curricular endeavors as well as friends and family members.

Students will be encouraged to wear graduation regalia as well as any stoles, cords, or medals they possess which represent their cultural or ethnic heritage or affiliation to specific organizations. Participating students will receive a token of appreciation from the Office of Multicultural Affairs in addition to a certificate of achievement. Refreshments and light hors d'oeuvres will be available after the ceremony.

Seeking students to get involved with the American Indian Student Union

Are you interested in becoming involved with the American Indian Student Union (AISU) at FSU? If so, then the FSU Student Government Association is looking for you! Currently, SGA is looking for a Director and Assistant Director for the AISU. These positions provide students with a wide exposure to FSU campus life and a wonderful opportunity to become involved on campus. The Office of Multicultural Affairs Co-Sponsorship Request*

The OMA provides small co-sponsorship funds to FSU registered student organizations that coordinate programs which celebrate diversity, multiculturalism, and social justice. Funds are limited and are distributed at the discretion of the OMA staff. If your organization is interested, please complete the following form and drop it by our office in A211 Oglesby Union.

*The OMA logo must be included on all publicity for approved events.
